Gavin Giles, Intern
Therapy has been an essential part of my life and mental health journey for nearly 15 years. At its worst, it’s been an hour of my time, and at its best, it’s felt like magic in the room. What therapy has taught me most, however, is that no matter where we are in life or what experiences we are going through, we always have the capacity to heal and grow.
As a counselor-in-training, my mission is for clients to find the inspiration that change is possible and to walk that path alongside them. My clinical interests are supporting adolescents and adults in navigating grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, complex family dynamics, addiction or dependency, and men’s issues. I am also interested in working with couples through a Gottman-informed lens. I use an integrated approach that incorporates a Person-Centered framework with Dialectical Behavior, psychodynamic, and Parts-work theories. I am available for sessions in-person at the Lincoln Square office or virtually.
