Elly Calderwood, LPC

I approach therapy with the belief that when we listen with humility, curiosity, and compassion,
we can uncover far more about our inner experiences, relationships, and capacities than we might
expect. I believe there is often deeper understanding beyond categories and labels, within the
meaning, context, and history that shape the ways we struggle, adapt, protect, relate, and thrive.
You might be healing from experiences you didn’t get to choose, feeling stuck in patterns that
keep returning, or weighed down by emotions that are difficult to hold alone. You may find
yourself questioning the stories you carry about who you are, how you relate to others, or your
place in the world. Sometimes life can feel lonely, painful, or difficult to make sense of on your
own.

I view therapy as a collaborative and flexible process that supports a deeper understanding of
what matters to you, what may need to shift, and what parts of your story deserve more attention,
understanding, or compassion. This includes honoring the fuller context of our lives: the
emotional and relational layers beneath shame, self-doubt, or disconnection, as well as the
cultural and social forces that shape our experiences.

My clinical background includes specialized training in eating disorders, including ARFID, as
well as OCD. Additional training and clinical experience include relational therapy, trauma
treatment, and somatic approaches informed by an anti-oppressive framework.
I value genuine and creative expression, along with the power of humor and levity, both in and
out of the therapy room.
